The Origin of the Frisbee

19 世紀(jì)末，美國面包師William Russell Frisbie開了一家叫做Frisbie餐廳，他制作的餡餅深受周邊大學(xué)生的歡迎，用餐結(jié)束后學(xué)生們經(jīng)常通過相互投擲圓形的餡餅包裝盒來進(jìn)行娛樂。

 

At the end of the 19th century, American baker William Russell Frisbie opened a restaurant called Frisbie. His pies were very popular among the surrounding college students. After the meal, the students often played with each other by throwing round pie boxes at each other.

由于包裝盒上印有“Frisbie”的 logo，所以學(xué)生們會在投擲時大喊“Frisbie”來提醒其他人注意躲避。“Frisbie（或者 Frisbee）”這個名稱也一直沿用至今。

 

Because of the logo "Frisbie" printed on the box, students would shout "Frisbie" when throwing to remind others to avoid it. The name "Frisbie (or Frisbee)" is still used today.

在運動中，運動員需要沖刺、變向、折返、跳躍、接盤，有時候還要飛撲接盤，并且要準(zhǔn)確地傳給隊友，失誤時還要馬上參與防守�？梢哉f，飛盤是一項有著籃球的傳球、足球的跑位、橄欖球的得分，集速度、有力的投擲和矯健的步伐于一身的運動。

 

When playing the game, athletes will sprint, change direction, turn back, jump, catch the Frisbee, and sometimes rush into it. They need to pass it to their teammates accurately. If they miss it, they need to be in defense immediately. It can be said that Frisbee is a sport that requires athletes to pass the Frisbee like basketball, run like playing football, earn scores like playing rugby. It is sport of speed, power and vigor.
